Technip Energies launches SnapLNG™ 1.5 with Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy for faster, more predictable LNG project delivery
Technip Energies (PARIS:TE) today announced SnapLNG™ 1.5, a standardized, fully modular and electrified LNG solution enabled by Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy. Built around a 1.5 million-tonne-per-annum (MTPA) train, the solution is designed to help developers bring LNG capacity online faster, improve execution certainty and reduce operational emissions.
As LNG demand is expected to grow significantly over the coming decade, more than 200 MTPA of new LNG capacity could be required by 2035, creating a substantial opportunity for project developers. The United States is expected to account for approximately 50% of global LNG market growth, reinforcing the need for solutions that can accelerate project delivery while reducing complexity, improving reliability and supporting lower-carbon operations. SnapLNG™ 1.5 addresses these challenges through a standardized and replicable design tailored to the growing small-to-mid-scale LNG market.
Commercialized by Technip Energies, SnapLNG™ 1.5 combines Technip Energies' LNG project execution expertise, modularization capabilities and digital project delivery approach with Honeywell Technologies’ proven gas pretreatment, liquefaction and automation technologies and Siemens Energy's electrified turbomachinery and compression solutions.
Designed around a standardized 1.5 MTPA train that can be replicated for larger developments, SnapLNG™ 1.5 leverages extensive offsite fabrication and electric motor-driven liquefaction technology to reduce development complexity, shorten project schedules by up to two years and enhance operational performance.
Loic Chapuis, President Project Delivery and Services of Technip Energies, commented: “SnapLNG™ 1.5 gives project owners and developers a faster and more predictable route to bringing new LNG capacity online. Combining Technip Energies’ execution and modularization expertise with proven technologies from Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy, we are already bringing this repeatable solution to LNG developers looking to accelerate schedules, improve project economics and reduce execution risk. The result is a more predictable path to new LNG capacity, with lower operational emissions.”
Christina Andersen, President of Gas and LNG, Process Technology, Honeywell Technologies, commented: "Through this collaboration, SnapLNG™ 1.5 will benefit from Honeywell Technologies’ decades of operating experience and our proven solutions that include pretreatment technologies used to process approximately 40% of the world’s LNG. By bringing together the complementary expertise of Honeywell Technologies, Technip Energies and Siemens Energy, customers can move forward with confidence, knowing that three industry leaders are working together to help deliver scalable solutions to help address the world’s growing energy demands."
Marcus Bruecher, Senior Vice President Compression, Siemens Energy: "Meeting growing LNG demand requires close collaboration across the LNG value chain. Together with Technip Energies and Honeywell Technologies, Siemens Energy contributes proven electrified turbomachinery and compression technologies to support a standardized and modular LNG solution aimed at reducing complexity and improving execution certainty."
The collaboration will be officially marked during Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, where the three companies will participate in a signing ceremony at the Technip Energies booth.
