Technip has been awarded by EDF (Electricité de France S.A.), in coordination with EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, an engineering, procurement and construction management contract for the “Crystal” Gas Plant project located in Etzel, Germany.
The “Crystal” project covers gas compression and treatment facilities for the storage of gas in underground salt caverns. Gas will be injected into the caverns at times of low gas prices and withdrawn to feed into the Dutch and the German gas grids, notably during periods of peak demand.
Following a recent award from OMV in Austria, this award marks another milestone in the field of underground gas storage for Technip’s operating center in Düsseldorf, Germany.
